Adhering to the iconic identity of The New York Times, the first iteration of a highly modular and scalable event platform was designed and built. Ensuring a mobile friendly experience, the hub for live and virtual events consolidates past and future live journalism experiences.
The site's architecture is straightforward consisting of only a few templates, the most robust of which is the event-detail page for tentpole events like Food Festival and DealBook. To reduce scrolling, this page has a distinct navigation for mobile and desktop users, where sections are collapsed and expandable on smaller screens, and an anchor navigation is implemented to make sections easily accessible on larger devices.
